Remember that your health is paramount, and your wellbeing and good service are our priority.
MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERY
Most of our procedures are made by laparoscopy and mini laparoscopy, a minimally invasive procedure characterized by a very rapid recovery, minimal pain, and short hospital stay. The conventional open surgical procedures can also be performed as necessary, depending on each case.
An alternative to this is laparoscopic surgery. This is a minimally invasive procedure performed under local anesthesia by making small incisions. Recovery is usually rapid with little pain and minimal scarring. In this surgical procedure, small incisions of 0.5 to 1 cm in diameter (about .2 to .4 inches) are made, and tubular instruments called trocars are inserted. During the procedure, through the trocar, specialized instruments and a camera, called a laparoscope, are inserted. This way, the surgeon can see the different body cavities in high resolution monitors installed in the operating room, allowing for a surgery without opening the body, and minimizing risks and complications.

In recent decades, the world population has presented an epidemiological transition. Currently, chronic, degenerative diseases have overtaken infectious diseases as the leading causes of death. In Mexico, the US and Canada, some of the leading causes of death include diabetes and cardiovascular problems, which affect millions of people every year.
The human body undergoes a series of processes that are necessary for it to obtain or produce energy from the food we eat. This process is denominated metabolism. The foods we eat are composed of proteins, carbohydrates and fats.
Our digestive system uses enzymes and other to break down food into sugars and acids, which act as the main fuel for our body. Depending on energy demand, our body can use this fuel immediately or store it either in the liver, muscles, or as body fat.
When abnormal chemical reactions occur, our metabolism is interrupted or changed resulting in what is referred to as metabolic syndrome. When this occurs, one can accumulate certain substances excessively in the body, such as fats (dyslipidemias), or on the other hand, the body can have very few of them available, as in the case of insulin in people with diabetes.
A metabolic disorder can be developed if an organ such as the liver or pancreas stops working normally, or if one leads an inadequate and indulging lifestyle, thus leading to diseases such as:
• Thyroid and parathyroid diseases
• Adrenal glands disorders
(U.S. National Library of Medicine).
Other common diseases today are those of the digestive tract. Today people live in constant stress, and eating fast or processed food is very common. All this affects the digestive tract causing various problems over time which, if left untreated, can turn into serious diseases like cancer.
The digestive tract extends from the mouth to the anus and is divided into different segments corresponding to the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum and anus. Each part of the digestive tract performs unique functions, which together process, absorb and eliminate ingested foods.
The most common diseases include the following:
• GERD (Gastroesophageal reflux disease)
• Hiatal hernia
• Vesicular lithiasis (or stones within the gallbladder)
• Diseases of the Esophagus
• Diseases of the Stomach
• Diseases of the Small intestine
